The Tables Turned

By William Wordsworth

Up! up! my Friend, and quit your books;
Or surely you'll grow double:
Up! up! my Friend, and clear your looks;
Why all this toil and trouble?

The sun above the mountain's head,
A freshening lustre mellow
Through all the long green fields has spread,
His first sweet evening yellow.

Books! 'tis a dull and endless strife:
Come, hear the woodland linnet,
How sweet his music! on my life,
There's more of wisdom in it.

And hark! how blithe the throstle sings!
He, too, is no mean preacher:
Come forth into the light of things,
Let Nature be your teacher.

She has a world of ready wealth,
Our minds and hearts to bless—
Spontaneous wisdom breathed by health,
Truth breathed by cheerfulness.

One impulse from a vernal wood
May teach you more of man,
Of moral evil and of good,
Than all the sages can.

Sweet is the lore which Nature brings;
Our meddling intellect
Mis-shapes the beauteous forms of things:—
We murder to dissect.

Enough of Science and of Art;
Close up those barren leaves;
Come forth, and bring with you a heart
That watches and receives.

What to watch: Oprah interviews J.K. Rowling Full Video

"Politics is show business for ugly people."
- Paul Begala

An Ode to K

I'm so deep,
I'm drowning,
People look up to me so much, hater's be frown-ing.
O, O, O- OH.

I'm seeing flashing,
Stop, pout, free-frame,
later I'll be ca-ca-ca-ca-ca cashing.

Uh, ye-ah.
Rip another tag off,
I don't think I'll ever have enough.
Till enoughs, enough,
No. Honey keep it tight,
Later Ken and barbie be having lunch late tonight.

Life looks bright-er, under the lights.
No longer burn under the sun, as I rise high-er.
Yeah, I'm so deep,
I'm drowning,
I swallow more than life, baby its a circus.
But baby I'll still be clowning.
Me and you forever,
Till I get older and you find better.

But its all good,
I won't cut any strings,
Baby, I'm still collecting things.
That's the meaning of this life,
just take, t-t-take what it brings.

I'm so deep,
I'm drowning,
People look up to me so much, hater's be frown-ing.

Look at you as you look at me looking at me,
baby its the new circle of life,
mimiking the cashflow.
So Love, life, coz you only get one xo, xo.
Write it down, snap, shot, thats a tweet,
I'm so profound.

Yeah baby I'm so deep.
Move to the left, baby there's your selfie.

I'm so deep, I'm drowning.
I'm so deep, I'm drowning.
I'm so deep. I'm drowning.

The Fallen Woman in 19th Century England

The Angel vs. The Whore

The Social Outcast, The"Other"

"The best mothers, wives,
and managers of households, know little or nothing of sexual indulgences.
Love of home, children, and domestic duties, are the only passions they
feel."

 "As a general rule, a modest woman seldom desires any sexual gratifi-
cation for herself. She submits to her husband, but only to please him; and,
but for the desire of maternity, would far rather be relieved from his
attentions."

 "In men, in general, the sexual desire is inherent and spontaneous, and
belongs to the condition of puberty. In the other sex, the desire is dormant,
if not non-existent..."

"Clement Scott, writing in 1894, can argue that men are 'born
animals' and women 'angels', so that it is in effect only 'natural'
for men to indulge their sexual appetites and, hence, perverse -
'unnatural' - for women to act in the same way."
